CHICAGO, IL ----- A midtown liquor store was robbed by a 9mm semi-automatic pistol on Monday night. Witnesses say the gun entered the store, grabbed a 40 ounce King Cobra Malt Liquor and then shot a man who was trying to stop it. The man, who was shot in the buttocks is expected to recover. The gun however has escaped and continues to elude police today.
As with all other gun crimes, police believe that the gun was acting on its own during the robbery and shooting. Witnesses describe the gun as a black, 9mm pistol. Police are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the pistol. They also warn not to approach the gun, as it is considered armed and dangerous.
President Obama spoke out on the incident today, saying that "stricter gun laws will prevent these rogue guns from causing more violence". Police have questioned one other suspect, but it had an alibi and was locked in a safe all day yesterday.
